Having been an athlete from a young age, I always aspired to combine my skills and experiences. In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I encountered a personal challenge that sparked an innovative journey: the messy and inconvenient process of using protein powder in my daily sports routine. This frustration led to the conception of LID-O. Inspired to create a more efficient solution, I began a journey of design and innovation, starting with sketches and progressing to 3D development. Teaming up with my partner Jorge Garcia, we embarked on a meticulous path to bring this idea to life. Our collaboration resulted in the creation of LID-O, a product designed to streamline the use of protein powder. The process, filled with challenges and breakthroughs, led to the successful launch of LID-O on Amazon. This endeavor is more than just a product launch; it symbolizes the fusion of practical design with a deep understanding of an athlete's needs, offering a solution that enhances the sports nutrition experience for athletes and fitness enthusiasts.

Consumers don't want to dig into the product to retrieve the scoop
Dirty Hands
Having to scoop out protein powder with wet hands gets your hands dirty and sticky.
Messy Countertops
If the scoop is inaccessible, digging around gets protein powder all over the counter.

The design process of LID-O was an exhaustive journey of precision and attention to detail, marked by the creation of over 50 prototypes. Each aspect of the product was meticulously evaluated in collaboration with our supplier in China, ensuring the highest standards of quality and functionality. We paid careful attention to even the smallest details, from the precise fit of the cap to the satisfying sound of the lever when it clicked into the closed position, striving for perfection in every element. Alongside the product design, we also focused on the broader aspects of bringing LID-O to market. This included the completion of both the packaging and website designs, each crafted to reflect the innovation and utility of the product. In parallel, we prepared for manufacturing, ensuring that every step was aligned with our vision for LID-O. To safeguard our innovation, we also navigated the complex process of applying for patents and securing the trademark for LID-O.

LID-O stands out not only for its innovative concept but also for its impressive specifications, tailored to meet the highest standards of safety and utility. The product is BPA-free, ensuring users are safeguarded against harmful chemicals often found in plastics. Additionally, it's designed to be dishwasher safe, offering ease of cleaning and maintenance. With sustainability in mind, LID-O is reusable, aligning with eco-friendly practices. A distinctive feature is its patented seal design, ingeniously crafted to prevent any air from entering the container, thus maintaining the freshness and quality of the contents. The product's launch was a significant milestone, first making its debut at Mr. Olympia, a prestigious event in the world of bodybuilding and fitness. Following this, we launched LID-O on Amazon and our dedicated website, widening its accessibility. This step not only introduced LID-O to a broader audience but also highlighted its practicality and appeal to various users, ranging from professional athletes to daily fitness enthusiasts. Adding to our momentum, we secured our first seed investment, a testament to the potential and viability of LID-O in the market. This financial backing further fueled our journey, enabling us to expand and enhance our reach in the sports nutrition industry.
