Nitro Evolve LTE connects enterprise teams in commercial environments such as factories, utilities, transportation, and hospitality. It provides easy to use smartphone functionality along with the safety and security of radio communication demanded in enterprise settings.
Going Beyond Requirements
The inception of Evolve coincided with the introduction of the CBRS network, presenting a unique challenge. Collaborating closely with the Product Owner, we aimed to transcend the notion of "a smartphone on a CBRS network." Through intensive ideation sessions, we pushed boundaries to bring radio functionality seamlessly into a smartphone form factor. The goal was not merely meeting requirements but redefining them to create a device that would stand out in the industry.

Architecture Driving Design Excellence
A pivotal phase unfolded in Malaysia, where the team, in collaboration with the supplier Flextronix, worked tirelessly for three weeks. The focus was on meeting stringent size requirements without compromising on performance. The battery's design and positioning emerged as critical factors that not only drove a smaller form factor but also contributed to an exceptional grip. The innovative two-sided design, strategically placing the speaker facing the back, not only reduced overall size but also enhanced the device's tactile feel.
Detail Design and Customer Feedback
In the meticulous detail design phase, nightly meetings over three months with our counterparts in China became the norm. Every aspect of Evolve was dissected and refined, ensuring that it met the exacting standards of intrinsically safe requirements. Concept lockdown was achieved, and appearance models were presented to the customer, garnering positive feedback. This iterative process, involving constant refinement based on customer input, played a crucial role in shaping the final product.
